Geez, that IS unfortunate.
New project:
I'm taking 380, an independent studio critique class. I'm making a photo a day, so I shoot a huge body of work every day. From those, I select my photo(s) for the day and post it here.
Every. Single. Day. PostSecret's got nothing on me.
Some days there may be more than one photo, mainly because I love dyptics and photo essays, but some days it'll just be the one. Like today.

Unless Snoopy says it to Charlie Brown, I think we're okay.
Oh, hey there, Blog, Blog readers. Are you still there? I hope so.
I'm still here. As it turns out, July and most of August have passed without so much as a word from me. I know there were promised updates from Istanbul, but it turns out that the following happened:
1) I went to Istanbul.
2) One week after my arrival, my hard drive crashed.
3) I was unable to empty any photocards at all because of this.
Now that I'm back to the good ole IL, I have a brand new hard drive and only lost 500 irreplaceable photos. Ha! (I'm going to cry in a corner after I post this.) Anyway, here's an update, abbreviated:
1) Istanbul was fantastic. It was modern and ancient and full of cosmopolitan-ness.
2) I learned a ton - not even in the classroom, saw even more, and didn't take enough photos.
3) I speak some broken Turkish, limited to common phrases about my state of being and ordering food in restaurants.
4) I'm dying to go back as soon as possible.
5) If you ever get a chance to go, take it. Without hesitation.
And now, on to the photos!
French people who were in the tour behind us. Erica said they were funny.
In French, though, so I have no idea really.
Ravi, next to this strangely tall sweet corn growing on campus ground.
He's 6'2". Note the height of the corn.

I ain't going out like no punk bitch.
Okay.
You're right.
It's been a long time since I posted last.
But you don't understand. No! Really! You don't understand. We were stealing internet in my New York apartment and they blocked us out or moved the receiver or something, so I only had internet access every other day at 9pm for a half hour if I sat very still at the corner of the kitchen table. The coffee on the corner was really bad, plus they hid all their wall outlets so patrons couldn't plug in computer batteries. Work didn't have any photo editing software.
And I'm a bad blogger. You got me.
But I'm back in blog. And I'm going to Turkey in 17 days, so I'll have a lot to post. I swear.

He watches from the fire escape.
The internet is down at my apartment. By down, I mean that the people we were stealing it from finally secured their connection, so now I have nothing. Let me tell you, it's pretty ridiculously awful. I may or may not have signed up for Facebook mobile because of this.
Because I have no photo-editing software at work, I have yet to start updating the Darkroom from there, hence the postless spell. It's been a tad longer than usual, right? Right.
Anyway, I have to finish my Darren Hayes article (due a week ago, sorry Jas), but I wanted to put up a teaser of what's to come tomorrow when I sit sullenly in a cafe with Internet and watch Degrassi and Grey's Anatomy on Lappy instead of from the comfort of my warm bed.
Whatever, it's the series of tubes, highly addictive.
